1. Physical activity

Regular and proper physical training can be very beneficial for people suffering from high blood pressure. In addition to lowering blood pressure, exercising is a great mood booster. Before starting any new physical activity, people should consult with a doctor about the level of physical activity that they should perform. Doctors usually recommend walking, bicycle riding and swimming.

2. Weight loss

Being overweight doesn’t necessarily cause high blood pressure, but there is a certain connection between obesity and high blood pressure. Obese people have a three times higher chance of having high blood pressure than individuals with a healthy body weight. Losing weight can solve that problem.

3. Relaxation

Stress is one of the main causes of high blood pressure. This has led to an increase in the popularity of relaxing activities, such as meditation and yoga.

4. Medications

Most high blood pressure patients must take medications in order to control their condition. These medications are very efficient because the pharmaceutical industry is advancing every year. The only thing that patient needs to do is stick to the instructions and take the medications regularly

5. Reduce Alcohol Consumption

It is well known that alcohol increases blood pressure. People that consume alcohol daily should drink less or even completely stop drinking alcohol. Additionally, alcohol can increase the body weight.

6. Reduce salt intake

Salt intake is directly linked with high blood pressure. Of course, you don’t need to completely exclude salt from your meals. All you need to do is reduce your level of salt intake. You can use spices or lemon instead of salt. You should also avoid foods that contain high levels of salt, such as canned products

7. Water

Recent studies have shown that there is a link between water intake and high blood pressure. You should drink 8-10 glasses of water every day in order to satisfy the needs of your body and lower your blood pressure.

8. Avoid caffeine

Although the effects of caffeine have not yet been confirmed, it has been proven that consuming caffeinated beverages can momentarily affect your blood pressure.

9. Omega-3 Fatty acids

Foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids can certainly you manage your blood pressure. These acids fight the free radicals in your body that cause the high blood pressure. But make sure you are not overusing these acids because they can produce adverse side effects.

10. Acupuncture

This is another working method to lower your high blood pressure. Applying pressure with needles can be very helpful. However, it must be preformed by a professional.
